Ice Angels is a sisterehood organization that supports the hockey team at Texas State. Ice Angels go to all the home Texas State hockey games to support the team as their home games are typically in San Antonio. At the games, we do things like help with thier ticket and merch stand, work the penalty boxes and sometimes do the game scoresheet and scoreboard. Since I grew up watching hockey, I was interested in joining and decided to go through recruitment my freshman year. I made it through the recruitment process and officially became a part of their Fall 2024 joining class.
At the end of my first year, I decided I wanted to go for an officer position. Originally, while filling out the paperwork, I was just going to go for the Recruitment positon, but was convinced to go for Treasurer. I found out at our end of the year bandquet that I was voted by the rest of the girls for Treasurer. I was so happy to be able to put back all the love I felt for my org and get others to join also. I enjoyed my time so much as an officer, I decided to run again.
This time around I ran only for the President position. I was super nervous going into the officer elections because I knew this position came with a lot of responsibilites, but I was also excited. Same as last year, I found out at our banquet that I had been voted to be the 2026-2027 President. Over the summer, I worked hard to stay on top of my responsibilities and help guide the other officers through their positions. I am looking forward to this upcoming year and excited to meet the new girls who decide to join!
