Hi! My name is Camren Nichols and I am an electronic media major at Texas State University. In addtion to my major, I am getting a minor in studies of popular culture. Outside of school, I am the President of Texas State Ice Angels and a rotational DJ for the student run radio station on campus called KTSW 89.9. I love going to hockey games with my friends and enjoying time by the river whenever I get free time. I am on track to graduate in the Fall of 2027 and I hope to continue my education getting my master's at University of Texas.
I am from a small town in southeast Texas called Nederland. For size comparison of how small my hometown is, Texas State's student population is more than double my hometown's population which is just over 18,000 people. Growing up I was always involved whether playing sports like softball or volleyball to even being my school's mascot for both middle school and high school. I graduted in the top 10 percent of my graduating class from Nederland High School. I have three sisters, two stepsisters and one half sister who is 12 years younger than me.
Some fun facts about me is that I am completely obsessed with otters. The San Marcos River has actually seen the return of river otters, but I have not been fortunate enough to see one. I grew up watching hockey with my stepdad, so hockey is one of my favorite sports. My favorite hockey team is the Dallas Stars and my favorite player is their goalie, Jake Oettinger. Lastly, for anyone into horoscopes, I am an Aqaurius!
